ALP Cycles Coaching collectively has over 25 years of professional sports experience. We are unique in that we have 4 female coaches, each bringing her own coaching strengths. Together we work to create a training plan that works for each individual. 

Alison Powers


Alison is the only person, in history, to win all three road discipline National Championships in one year (2014). These three national championships go along with 2 previous national championships (Time Trial 2008, Team Pursuit 2008), 2 National Racing Calendar titles, and a 2nd place at the Leadville 100 mountain bike race (2013, 7:26hrs). 

Alison is owner and head coach of ALP Cycles Coaching, and has been coaching cyclists for 8 years. She brings an unparalleled knowledge and skill base to cycling and bike racing. After 7 years on the US Ski Team as a downhill ski racer, Alison raced bikes professionally for 8 years. She is a USA Cycling Level 2 certified coach, has a TrainingPeaks Level 1 certification, and is certified as both a Road and Cyclocross racing coach from USA Cycling.


Alison specializes in road, cyclocross, and mountain bike skills clinics, and high performance race preparation and tactics.

Jennifer Sharp

Jennifer Sharp, a USA Cycling Level 1 and TrainingPeaks certified coach, has a knack for bringing the best out of athletes. Her experience as an elite level track racer and masters national champion as well as tandem pilot in the Para-cycling road and track world championships gives her the experience and knowledge of what it takes to be successful at the highest level.  Her coaching philosophy is based on figuring out each client’s individual balance point between working, living and cycling in order to help them become the best athlete they can be. A lifelong athlete and competitor, she strives to bring the knowledge and wisdom she’s gained in sport to those she works with.

Jennifer specializes in mental skills training as well as road and track racing.

PATRICIA SCHWAGER


Patricia Schwager (Paddy)

Patricia Schwager began racing as a junior in 1998. After racing at the domestic level and completing her Diploma as Pastry Chef, she got her first professional cycling contract in 2006. Patricia raced 10 years on professional level and has a lot of experience racing in the European peloton. She raced for some of the best and biggest teams like: Raleigh-Lifeforce, Cervélo TestTeam, Nederland Bloeit, Faren-Kuota, TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank. Patricia is a 6 time national Swiss champion and has represented her home country, Switzerland, at the World Championships 12 times.

In early 2016, Patricia ended her pro racing career due to a chronic leg injury. She now enjoys sharing and passing on her knowledge in her role as an ALP Cycles Coach. Since November 2016, Patricia has the UCI Sports Director diploma in her pocket. She is also a certified USA Cycling Level 3 coach and has a TrainingPeaks Level 1 certification. Along with coaching, Patricia works as Logistics Manager for Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank.

Patricia specializes in road racing and race tactics.

Ruth Winder

Ruth Winder, a USA Cycling Level 3 coach and 2016 Olympian (Team Pursuit), began her racing career as a junior winning her first national title at age 16. After earning a spot on the 2010 Jr Track World Championship team she started to realize her talent in the sport. As her strength grew she was noticed by the USA Cycling National team and spent her years racing the European Classics and stage races such as the Giro Rosa, while also racing professionally in the United States. Recently, she has been solely committed to the USA National Team track program where she lived at the Olympic training center in Colorado Springs for 2 years. After making 3 world championship teams for team pursuit and becoming an Olympian she is hoping to share her extensive track knowledge and ever growing racing experience with others. 

Ruth specializes in Track racing, training and stage race preparation, and race tactics.
