Racing season is upon us! How many times have you been off the front of a race just squeezing everything out of you that you've got? Next time you find yourself there really think about your body position. Are you riding as aero as possible? Aero dynamics shouldn't be saved just for the TT bike.
Think about keeping your arms bent and bringing your chest lower. Bring your head down as low as you can while still being able to see where you're going! Clothing that fits well will also help you out lots, try to find a race cut jersey, it shouldn't have any flapping material. These few things will mean seconds of extra "free" time off the front. Your arms might start burning more than your legs! Then you should pedal faster to balance that back out.
It's important to be aware of when you will attack to be most effective. To get the most from yourself and be the most effective don't forget about those aero dynamics!
