This year's 3-day tour starts and finishes in the small town Silverton, Colorado- at the Grand Imperial Hotel. Day 1 (74miles) starts by climbing up Red Mountain pass to 11,000ft. After 15 miles along the San Miguel River, we descend into the mountain ski town of Telluride.
After breakfast, we leave Telluride and head for Durango. Day 2 is our longest day of the tour at 110 miles. We climb Lizard Head Pass to 10,223 ft. From there, we begin a long decent of approximately 71 miles through the towns of Ricco, Stoner, Dolores and Mancos. After a small climb at Hesperus Hill we descend into Durago for happy hour and our last night of the tour.
Day 3 (50miles) is the same route as the Iron Horse Classic run over Memorial Day weekend. We cover 2 passes over 10,000ft - Coal Bank Pass and Molas Pass. A short descent brings us back to the tour's starting point in Silverton.
